A photo book can be a fun and heartwarming gift to give and receive.
Every year we document the journey of our life. Our highs and lows, the good and the memories, the people we’ve met and the people we’ve said goodbye too, events and adventures and all the new things we participated in. We give them to our parents and siblings at Christmas. My daughter, now 11, loves looking through them, especially her baby ones.
With all the online printing companies, creating a beautiful photo book is as simple as dragging and dropping pictures and text into a template. And with the holiday coming there will be plenty of coupons available.
Designing a book on a year in the life is a pretty easy way to organize a story. We pick an image or an event for each month and and the whole project flows like a calendar. Facebook is a great way to get inspired. I love looking through my feed and pulling images to include in the printed book.
Documenting Legacy with a Photo Book
How do you put together the story of an ancestor? Or a parent? The best way of course is to stop procrastinating and get it done.
Documenting our stories through photo books means picking which stories and pictures to use. And picking a theme or focus for your book. For example you may have recipes in your grandmother’s handwriting. You could create a photo book showing casing a few of the hand written recipes with pictures of your grandmother. That’s a beautiful memento and a piece of legacy to hand down.
Telling a birth to death story can we done using a timeline, or using a specific holiday such as Christmas to showcase a day in the life.
The possibilities are endless. Shutterfly and Blurb are great resources for ideas, inspirations and of course coupons ;). Here is a video on how to create a legacy photo book with Blurb.
